The east side of Fort Worth is generally defined as the area east of Interstate 35W,
and the immediate north and south sides of Interstate 30 East. East side residents
enjoy easy access to downtown Fort Worth and Arlington, and a relatively light
commute to Dallas. Many of the neighborhoods in East Fort Worth are older,
established communities where homes have stood the test of time. Most neighborhoods
feature mature trees and landscaping.
Some of the neighborhoods in this area include:
-
Meadowbrook:
The Meadowbrook area includes Carol Oaks, Cooks Meadows, East Meadowbrook and
Eastern Hills. Within this area you will find a mix of stately houses,
whimsical cottages and vintage suburban homes from the 1950's, 1960's and
1970's.
-
Morningside:
Judging by its name, Morningside is a community vested with eternal optimism.
It and the nearby neighborhood of Near Southeast are two of the city's
oldest areas, featuring small houses and independent businesses.
-
Rolling Hills:
This east side neighborhood includes Glencrest and Glen Garden, where houses
rest on sloping terrain overlooking downtown. The Glen Garden Country Club
is a central feature.
-
Woodhaven:
This upscale neighborhood surrounds the Woodhaven Country Club and golf
course. Most homes were custom built in the 1970's, and many have lovely,
green views of the course. The neighborhoods of Bentley Village, Cobblestone
Square, Eastchase, John T. White, Highwood Hills, River Trails, Sandybrook
and White Lake are nearby.
